Search [Need Help!] ----> resolve error 0x7b (drivers conflict)

    Hello guys,
i am writing here 'coz i am trusting this forum and its users.

    My PC:

    Pro: Core2Duo 2.2 E4500
    Mobo: Asus P5VD2-VM SE
    Video Card: Nvidia 8500 GT
    H.D.D: WD 320
    Windows 7

    - I decided to change my Mobo with an Asus P5KPL-VM, but after i installed my hardware i realize that i didn't delete any drivers, so when i open my PC the blue screen of death appears after windows 7 logo. I did not want to format my pc, but now I created a partition and installed Windows 7, so i can figure how to resolve this issue.

    - My Qs are:
    - what should be the first step when changing to a new Mobo?
    - which drivers should i delete to make my old windows work?
    - I am having the New Windows on the same H.D.D so i am getting 2 choices for booting to windows

    - Just to konw:
    - I can't install my H.D.D to my old Mobo
    - I didn't change anything except the Mobo
    - I changed the SATA cables
    - I tried Windows 7 repair wizard from DVD

    Thx u

Unfortunately, over the years I've had a few problems changing mobo's from one chipset to another, mainly from VIA to nVidia/Intel. The SATA/IDE drivers are often the main problem and can sometimes leave you no choice but to reinstall.

    What's the BSOD Error?
Can you get to safe mode? (very unlikely if it's the SATA/IDE drivers)
Set the BIOS to IDE instead of AHCI or RAID.

I appreciate ur replay OK, the BSOD Error is with code: 0x0000007b (0x80786b58, 0xc0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000).
and the second thing, i can't get to SAfe Mode, gives same error, I have a SATA H.D.D but i don't have the AHCI option in the BIOS.

So.. i have to accept this and go for a fresh windows?, no solution?

As I feared, STOP: 0x0000007B "INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE". Almost certain it's your SATA drivers.

There are possible workarounds but sadly they require re-plugging into the old M/board which you can't do.

The AHCI BIOS option looks to be in Main > IDE Configuration > ATA/IDE Configuration. If it's set to enhanced you could try compatible or play with the other settings in there. Worth a go.

You could try a repair from the Win 7 DVD. It will check your startup and attempt to fix any problems. Long shot but hey...

There is a possible software solution which is Acronis True Image with the Universal Restore/Plus pack add-on. You could take an image and then put it back using the Universal Restore option which injects the default Microsoft IDE drivers potentially solving your problem. If you have it or can get it, definitely worth a go as a last resort.

Other than that I'm out of ideas for the moment.....

I have an article for this issue but it is based on XP.
    http://www.raymond.cc/blog/archives/2008/07/09/move-windows-xp-hard-drive-or-change-motherboard-without-getting-blue-screen-of-death/

You can give it a try on Windows 7.
